Dr. Kaan S.Irgit is an Associate Professor at Marmara University School of Medicine, Istanbul. He is the chief of Foot and Ankle Division at Marmara University. He finished his medical school in Izmir, 9 Eylul University. He completed his residency at Ankara Training and Research hospital, Ankara.
He did his sports traumatology and arthroscopy fellowship in Barcelona, Spain. He did a few short fellowships for foot and ankle surgery at the HSS. He was a trauma research fellow at Geisinger Medical Center, PA between 2010-2013.
He is the current president of the Society of the Turkish Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is an active member of the international foot and ankle societies and other national societies. He is a current member of educational committee of Turkish Society of Sports Traumatology and Knee Surgery. He served at the educational committee of AOFAS. He is one of the travelling fellows of the AOFAS (2018) . He has numerous published peer reviewed articles and book chapters.
Dr. Irgit devotes 90% of his working time to clinical practice focusing on Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Reconstruction and Sports Medicine. He has particular interest in arthroscopic surgery, osteochondral lesions, hallux problems and trauma.
