Bret Smith, DO, MS is the Director of the Foot and Ankle Division of the Moore Center of Orthopedics.  He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His internship and orthopedic residency was completed at Doctors and Grant Hospitals in Columbus, OH. He subsequently completed his fellowship in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, OH. While in Columbus he served as an adjunct professor at the Ohio State University. Dr. Smith is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

He currently serves as the chair of the e-poster committee and a member of the education committee of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is the recent past-President of the Foot and Ankle Section of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. Dr. Smith also serves on the OPEC hospital board of the Moore Center for Orthopedics at Providence Hospital.

In addition to staying active at both a local and national level with professional organizations, Dr. Smith maintains an active interest in research and development within the orthopedic foot and ankle field. He has published numerous articles and textbook chapters related to his area of specialty.

Dr. Smith also works closely with several implant manufactures to design and develop new products to improve patient safety and outcomes. He serves on several national speakers boards to help in educating other foot and ankle specialist in the most advanced developments in the orthopedic foot and ankle field.

In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys time with his wife Reynell and two awesome boys Liam and Luke. He also enjoys cycling, surfing, and the occasional cold weather adventure of snowboarding.
