Dr. A. Holly Johnson is an orthopedic foot and ankle specialist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. She earned her BA from Harvard University and her MD from the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine.
She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery and fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. She is the Fellowship Director for the Harvard-MGH Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Fellowship and is the resident coordinator for her service. She serves as a team physician for USA Women’s Ice Hockey and a consultant surgeon for Harvard University Athletics.
She is active in the AOFAS and serves on the Foundation Board of Directors and the Humanitarian, Program, and PRC committees within the society.
Dr. Johnson treats all orthopaedic maladies of the foot and ankle, and has a particular interest in arthroscopy and minimally invasive techniques, osteochondral lesions, sports-related injuries, foot and ankle trauma and deformity correction. Her research interests are broad, and she is currently working on studies of the syndesmosis, opioid use and prescribing patterns, and fifth metatarsal fracture fixation.
